Industry Trends & Market Insights Pt. 2

Rise of Home Studios and Remote Recording

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the trend of voice-over artists setting up professional home studios, a practice that has continued post-pandemic.

Remote recording allows for greater flexibility, lower costs, and the ability to work with clients worldwide. With professional-quality equipment and software accessible to freelancers, artists can now deliver high-quality voice-overs without the need for traditional studios.

Surge in Short-Form Content Needs

The popularity of social media, podcasts, and short-form videos has led to a demand for concise, engaging voice-overs for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Short-form content trends require voice-over artists to adapt, as brands look for fresh, conversational tones that align with the casual, direct communication style of social media.

Voice-over talents with skills in quick, impactful delivery find strong demand in influencer marketing and branded social media content.

Let’s Talk

It’s all about The Voice…or is It!

It’s just my  humble opinion that  VO clients have a voice in their head that’s perfect for their project.   It’s the job of the actor during audition to change the clients mind that his/her voice is “just exactly perfect” to represent their company.

So, talent has been hired and the voice actor hasn’t really connected with the script? How will the actor reach the audience that the client is targeting? After all,  the objective is to build and expand the clients brand and create a repeat customer base while increasing the bottom line.   It’s a delicate balance, with most VO work being recorded in home studios, you really must put your best performance into your audition.

So is it the sound of the actors Voice, or, is it?
